Thanks For Breaking It
Thanks For Breaking It
The slogan “Thank you for breaking it” wasn’t chosen arbitrarily for this sports car. Every time the GR Yaris was rigorously tested, it presented Toyota engineers with a new challenge to overcome. It was a car that constantly evolved through accumulated experience and technology, and through a spirit of adventure and a willingness to take risks in the pursuit of ever-improving vehicles.

Highlighted Features
As a Four-GR branded vehicle, the Yaris GR inherits the all-wheel-drive power of Toyota’s sports cars. It was created to bring the excitement and technology of motorsport to a wider audience. By comparing driving data, Toyota engineers were able to understand the differences in each driver’s experience and build a car specifically tailored to their needs.

performance
Dynamic 1.6L three-cylinder turbo engine (sport)
By analyzing the engine’s performance in World Rally Championship (WRC) competitions, Toyota successfully developed a highly responsive engine with power output that meets expectations in all conditions. Toyota also optimized output and torque by subjecting the engine to loads to analyze its maximum performance.
Direct Drive Automatic Transmission (GR-DAT)
A new type of automatic transmission allows the driver to focus on steering, acceleration and braking without being distracted by the need to change gears manually, thus increasing the enjoyment of sporty driving.
Intelligent six-speed manual transmission (iMT)
Pressing the iMT button puts the transmission into standby mode. When a change in speed is detected in this state, the system adjusts the engine speed after the gear change to facilitate gear shifting.
Suspension system adjustment
The GR Yaris’s finely tuned suspension system provides superior control in a wide range of conditions, from winding roads to race tracks.
Limited slip differential
The Torsen LSD limited-slip differential was used to give the driver a driving pleasure that only a sports car in the FR class can achieve. The correct distribution of torque to the right and left wheels while turning corners improves traction performance, achieving precise and responsive acceleration when finishing corners, and giving a high degree of car control.
Active Torque Split Four-Wheel Drive
By providing instant control over torque distribution to all four wheels in all road conditions, and optimizing the torque applied to the front and rear wheels, the GR Yaris responds with sharper turns and a driving behavior that better reflects the driver’s intent.
Lightweight structure
The hood, both doors, and the tailgate are made of aluminum. The roof is constructed from C-SMC*, ensuring an exceptionally lightweight body with a low center of gravity.
*C-SMC: Carbon Fiber Reinforced Sheet Forming Compound.
Lightweight and extremely rigid body
Aluminum materials were used for the front fenders, hood, underbody cover, and roof to achieve a lightweight, all-around design. Increased resistance to lateral bending and body torsion results in agile steering control and stable driving performance during high-speed cornering.
Improving aerodynamic management
The lower part of the rear bumper contains vents for air to pass through the bumper, which improves driving stability and dissipates heat more efficiently.
Improved cooling performance
The lower side grilles have air inlets to improve cooling performance, and outward vents have been installed on both sides of the bumper to dissipate heat from the sub-radiator and automatic transmission fluid cooler.
Exterior design
With its bold lines, the Urban Cruiser combines a revolutionary blend of modern design and heritage durability. The acrylic and chrome finish offers a striking visual appeal, while a large front grille emphasizes stability. To complete this distinctive look, the Urban Cruiser’s elevated stance reflects a level of sophistication that blends seamlessly with the city lights.
