What are hybrid cars?
A choice for a cleaner future

The hybrid car journey began with a simple idea: What if we could combine fuel and electricity in a single vehicle? If one source ran out, the other could compensate, generally reducing gasoline consumption. In 1997, this idea came to fruition when Toyota launched its first-ever hybrid car with two engines: the iconic Toyota Prius.

Hybrid cars run on both fuel and electric power, generating energy during driving and braking. Toyota continues to develop hybrid car technology and enhance the driving experience by improving fuel efficiency, adding advanced features, and offering superior safety.
